Cocoa Beach basketball player Haley Overdorf wins FLORIDA TODAY Community Credit Union Athlete of the Week
Haley Overdorf of Cocoa Beach basketball won this week's online vote for FLORIDA TODAY Community Credit Union Athlete of the Week.
Overdorf received 17,019 of the 33,883 votes cast at floridatoday.com and 321preps.com. That was 50.23 percent of the vote. Following was Ionna Garcia of Holy Trinity basketball, who received 8,827 votes.
Overdorf was nominated for her 20-point performance against Harmony on Nov. 18. She also had 14 points in a win over Merritt Island on Nov. 23 and seven points against St. Edward's on Nov. 19.
Gianna Buysse of Viera soccer, Katie Corley of Melbourne Central Catholic soccer, Jake Hilliard of Eau Gallie basketball, Brooklyn McDuffie of Merritt Island soccer, Elijah Naidas of Palm Bay basketball, O.J. Ross of Cocoa football, and Hailey Thibodeau of Space Coast soccer also were nominated.
