Cobb reports three COVID deaths Friday

Apr. 17—Cobb County Schools reported 187 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the district since it closed for its week-long spring break two weeks ago.

On Friday, the school system's website listed 4,836 cases as of July 1. This week's cases were at 36 elementary schools, 17 middle schools and 16 high schools, a total of 69 schools.

The district does not state how many infections are in students or staff.

As of 7 p.m. Friday, Marietta City Schools had not updated its COVID-19 report since it closed for spring break April 2.
