Columbus Clippers plate zero in series opener to Buffalo

Tuesday's game: Bison 1, Clippers 0

Recap: It was Dime-a-Dog night at Huntington Park, which may have taken the edge off of a Clippers' shutout loss to the Buffalo Bisons. Case Lawrence (5-1) stuck out four over 5 2/3 innings, allowing just three hits, and four relievers combined to strike out seven more in a 1-0 win over Columbus. Cullen Large hit a solo home run for Buffalo, which has won four straight and is 1.5 games out of first place in the International League East. Clippers starter Tobias Myers allowed the lone run, but lost his fourth game over his last five starts. Will Benson, recently promoted to the leadoff spot in the batting order, had two hits.

Of note: The Clippers swapped relief pitchers by reassigning RHP Brett Daniels and adding LHP Tim Herrin, to and from Double-A Akron, respectively.
