Clinton girls soccer wins LCAA title outright

CLINTON — The Clinton girls soccer team clinched the Lenawee County Athletic Association title Monday for back-to-back seasons as it beat Dundee, 8-0.

The Redwolves are now 10-0 in the league and 14-1 overall with two league games remaining while Blissfield and Columbia Central tied on Monday, pushing both to 7-2-1 with two games left.

Madalyn Freitas scored four more goals to give her 57 on the season and 182 for her career. She also added an assist. Zoey Sierer added a hat trick while Anna Schaffner scored a goal as well.

Paige Shankland and Aubrey Lauer each had two assists.

Lenawee Christian 5, Grass Lake 1: At Adrian, the Cougars picked up an Independent Soccer League win and clinched at least a share of the program's first league title.

LCS is now 11-1-4 on the season and 7-0 in the ISL with one game to go while Manchester is in second at 7-1.

Freshman Callie Anderson netted a hat trick while Kylie Summer and Janae Good each score as well for the Cougars.

LCS can clinch the title outright at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Jonesville.

Tecumseh 3, Jackson 1: At Jackson, after tying the Vikings in Southeastern Conference White Division play, 0-0, earlier in the season, Tecumseh topped Jackson the second time around.

Chesney Wilke, Shaylinn Drouillard and Kylie Trevino all scored for Tecumseh (12-3-3, 5-1-3 SEC White). Wilke added an assist while Ashley Chinavare and Brynn Richardson each had an assist.

Blissfield 1, Columbia Central 1: At Brooklyn, the Royals battled with the Golden Eagles for second place in the LCAA and the two tied, 1-1.

Both teams are now 7-1-1 in LCAa play while Blissfield is now 8-6-1. The tie ends the Royals four-game streak, but makes it five-straight games without a loss.

Ida 5, Onsted 4: At Ida, the Wildcats fell to 6-7 on the season and 2-6 in LCAA play after the Bluestreaks scored two late goals to pull ahead.

Ava Ruttkofsky scored twice while Bailey Brandly and Cara Bumpus each scored as well.

TRACK AND FIELD

Jackson, Pinckney at Adrian SEC Tri: At Adrian, the Maples boys capped the SEC White duals for Adrian as the boys won both while the girls fell in both.

The Adrain boys won 78-59 to Pinckney while also beating Jackson, 98-39. The girls fell to Pinckney, 95-40, and Jackson, 65-61.

Jake Eagling won the 400-meter for the Maples at 51.93 while Braylon Petty won the 3,200 (9:50.24). Adrian's 4x400 team also picked up a win at 3:32.94.

Noah Gradeless won both the shot put (42-feet-7.5-inches) and discus (124-8). Joe Francis won the high jump (6-2) while William Winckles won the pole vault (11-feet) and Isaiah Fox won the long jump (18-feet).

Asia Campbell won the 100 (12.91) while Sophy Skeels won the 3,200 (12:21.39) and Akkya Campbell won the high jump (4-8).

BOYS GOLF

Tecumseh 173, Ypsilanti Lincoln 212: At Tecumseh, Tecumseh hosted the Railsplitters in a SEC White matchup where Tecumseh won to solidify second place overall in the SEC White.

Aldo Barba led the way with a 40 while Joe Nowak shot a 41 at Tecumseh Country Club.

Onsted at Adrian Invite: At Adrian, the Maples played host to the Maple Invite at The Hills of Lenawee and came out in second place.

Adrian shot a team score of 339 and was led by Cayden Staib's 78 as he took second overall. Carson Ritz took third with an 81 while Logan Harrah shot an 89 to take 10th.

Onsted took sixth with Zander Brezvai shooting a 90 while Hunter Johncox shot 102, Drew Wendt shot 111 and Aiden Paquin shot 114 to post a team score of 417.

Hillsdale Academy 180, Lenawee Christian 184: At Hillsdale, the Cougars fell by four shots to Hillsdale Academy in the South Central Athletic Association match.

Brogan Winder shot a 40 to take second overall while Connor Parisien shot 46, Lucas Day shot 47 and Coby Kegerries shot a 51.

LACROSSE

Tecumseh (b) 8, Toledo Wolf Pack 7: At Tecumseh, the boys lacrosse team finished the regular season with a victory.

Tecumseh enters regional play with a mark of 7-9 and will take on Monroe Catholic Central at 5 p.m. Thursday at home to begin the postseason.
