CHARLOTTE – Clemson is set to play in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The 89th edition of the game is scheduled for an 8 p.m. kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium.

No. 9 Clemson (11-2) earned its Orange Bowl berth by virtue of its 39-10 victory against No. 23 North Carolina (9-4) in the ACC Championship Game Saturday night in Charlotte.

The Tigers are expected to play No. 7 Tennessee (10-2) in the game.

Clemson and Tennessee have played 19 times, most recently in the 2004 Peach Bowl, where Clemson won, 27-14. But the Volunteers hold an 11-6-2 all-time edge in the series.
