Class B Roundup: L/L-M beats Griggs, Carrington ends skid

Jan. 25—The LaMoure/Litchville-Marion Loboes boys basketball team locked down in the second half Monday, Jan. 24, in a 70-41 victory over the Griggs-Midkota Titans. The Loboes (5-2) outscored the Titans (2-8) 36-17 in the second half.

The game was close after the first quarter with the score 13-11 in favor of the Loboes. However, a second quarter in which the Loboes outscored the Titans 21-13 stretched their lead to double digits.

The Loboes outscored the Titans 12-5 in the third quarter before they put the game away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Titans 24-12.

The Loboes had three players finish in double digits, Max Musland with 21, Corban Potts scoring 18 and Colten Ness with 14. The Titans' Logan Topp scored 14 points and Jaxon Gronneberg added 11.

The Loboes' scored 26 points off of 27 turnovers. The Titans forced 12 turnovers and scored seven points off those takeaways.

The Titans crashed the boards hard, collecting 34 rebounds with 24 of them coming on the defensive glass. The Loboes had 26 rebounds.

The Loboes are back in action at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, when they go to Carrington. The Titans are back in action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, when they face Ellendale.

The Carrington Cardinals boys basketball team put an end to their five-game losing streak with a 71-33 win Monday, Jan. 24, over the Barnes County North Bison.

The Cardinals have now won eight of their last nine games against the Bison dating back to 2014-15.

The Cardinals were led by Grady Shipman and Lucas Hendrickson, who had a combined 41 points. The Bison's only player to finish in double digits was William Schwehr with 16 points.

The Cardinals are back in action at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, when they take on LaMoure/Litchville-Marion. The Bison look to put an end to their losing streak at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, when they face Kidder County.
