City of Perry names Chris Cohea as marketing and engagement coordinator

The city of Perry has named Chris Cohea as the new marketing and engagement coordinator.

Cohea brings more than 16 years of communications experience to the position. He most recently held the role of program director at KDLS (94.3FM / 99.7 FM / AM 1310) in Perry, part of the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.

Cohea is originally from Elsberry, Missouri, but has lived in Perry for the last nine years. He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and holds a bachelors of science degree in mass communications, with a minor in human resource management.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to not only work for the city of Perry, but help to grow a brand new position," he said. "Perry has so many things to offer its current and future residents, and with the marketing and engagement coordinator position, I have an opportunity to help the city showcase itself to people who have yet to set foot in this wonderful community.”

“We are happy to have Mr. Cohea as the marketing and engagement coordinator for the city of Perry. He will work collaboratively with all departments to achieve strategic communication goals and provide exceptional, personal customer service to our community members,” City Administrator Sven Peterson said.

Cohea will be playing a key role in supporting and promoting the communication goals of the city by performing a range of activities including updating website content and social media platforms, writing/editing and producing both written and graphical content for a variety of print and digital projects, developing and implementing a marketing and engagement plan and developing and managing special events.
