City: Amarillo Environmental Health Department experiencing software problem

The third-party software system for the Amarillo Environmental Health Department is not fully functional and is impacting several online features, according to a news release from the city.

The health department releases reports which are compiled into the Globe-News' weekly Food Establishment Inspection Report for health inspections of Amarillo area restaurants, food trucks and eateries.

“We have notified Tyler Technologies of the software issue, and they are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible,” said the city's Environmental Health Director Anthony Spanel in the release. “At this time, there is no timeline as to when normal online operations will resume. We urge the public to contact the Environmental Health Department with any questions or concerns. We apologize for this inconvenience and will work with the public until full online access is restored.”

Online features impacted by the software issue include online payments, the viewing of online inspection reports and providing copies of reports of inspected facilities.

The Environmental Health Department can be contacted at (806) 378-9472 and by email at ehealth@amarillo.gov.
