Weather: Adams County under tornado warning, damaging winds likely

Update 6:05 p.m.: A tornado warning remains in effect until 6:30 p.m. for central Adams County. Forecasters said at 6 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over West Union, moving northeast at 30 mph.

Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes could be damaged or destroyed. Tree damage is also likely.

Update 5:20 p.m.: Forecasters are monitoring central Kentucky, where storms continue to build. These storms should be impacting Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio counties in the next few hours.

Update 2:10 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Ohio including Hamilton, Middletown and Fairfield until 2:45 p.m.

There is a slight risk of severe weather for parts of Greater Cincinnati Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered severe storms are possible Thursday afternoon and night, mainly from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Damaging winds are the primary threat, but large hail and an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out, according to forecasters.

Localized flooding remains a concern with heavy downpours. Individuals are advised not to drive through floodwaters over the road.
