Christine McGuinness has joked that she let husband Paddy off the hook for forgetting their wedding anniversary because he makes her laugh so much.
The couple have reached their ninth wedding anniversary, and Christine made sure to mark the special day with a roomful of red heart-shaped balloons and a stunning cake.
But it seems Top Gear star Paddy completely spaced on the milestone.
Sharing a clip on Instagram of the romantic spread she had laid on, Christine wrote: “Happy anniversary.
“13 years together, 9 years married!!!
“Even though you totally forgot.. again! You are forgiven because I couldn’t do life without laughter and you give me so much!”
“Happy anniversary my love,” she added.
The couple tied the knot in June 2011 and have three children together - six-year-old twins Leo and Penelope and four-year-old daughter Felicity.
The children are all on the autistic spectrum and Christine has been open about the challenges this has presented, particularly amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Earlier this week she revealed she had experienced “a mixture of emotions” about them returning to school.
“It’s safe to say we have had a mixture of emotions the last couple of days, mainly from me but mostly good!” she wrote on Instagram.
“It’s a personal choice sending your children back to school and not an easy one to make.
“We’re testing it out taking things one day at a time.
“Trying just a couple of hours, seeing if the twins are happier and more settled with some routine back and if they can do school life safely then that’s we will do!
“Ultimately I just want them to be happy and safe, which I feel they are.”
