Chrissy Teigen has shared a moving post in memory of her son, Jack, who very sadly died when she was partway through her pregnancy, due to complications with her placenta. Jack was Chrissy and husband John Legend's third child.

At the time, when sharing the devastating news with the world, Chrissy also posted a series of intimate black and white images of herself and John cradling their baby. In her new tribute making the anniversary of Jack's passing, the model, TV host and cookbook author also uploaded another candid image of herself and John in the hospital after Jack's passing.

"And to the son we almost had, a year ago you gave me the greatest pain I could ever imagine to show me I could survive anything, even if I didn’t want to," she bravely writes. "I didn’t get to take care of you but you came and went to get me to love myself and take care of myself because our bodies are precious and life is a miracle. They told me it would get easier but yeah, that hasn’t started yet. Mom and dad love you forever."

On her Instagram Stories, Chrissy also shared that she had been awake all night and asked those who follow her online to treat her with kindness [implying there have been nasty comments levelled her way].

"I was up sick, sobbing, as my phone popped up of the memory of being hospital exactly one year ago, losing our baby. So I'm maybe a little sensitive today, but f*ck off."

She added, "Why people follow people they hate [is] beyond me."

Before Jack's incredibly sad passing, Chrissy had been on bed rest during her pregnancy and kept fans updated when she was later admitted to hospital. Despite the best efforts of her medical team, tragically little Jack was unable to be saved.

"We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before," Chrissy wrote. "We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough."

Whilst the raw images were uncomfortable to some, others – who have also sadly experienced a miscarriage or baby loss – shared that they found comfort in the photos and felt less alone having seen them.

When addressing the some of the criticism levelled at Chrissy and John's social posts, baby loss charity Tommy's wrote in response: "In the UK, 1 in 4 pregnancies will end in miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth. Around 5000 families will experience Termination for Medical Reasons (TFMR). But baby loss is often not talked about.

"The emotional impact this has is devastating and leaves parents with so many unanswered questions. It leaves them isolated in their grief... There is still silence and shame around baby loss. But if we can talk about it openly and honestly, not only can we help each other feel less alone, but we can also pave the way for greater awareness and more research to stop it happening."

Our thoughts and with John and Chrissy, and their loved ones, during this sad time.
