Chris Hill hammers two homers, Plankinton tops South Central

May 17—GREGORY — Chris Hill bashed two home runs on Plankinton routed South Central 19-6 in amateur baseball action Sunday.

Hill went 4-for-5 and drove in six runs, with a two-run homer in the fifth inning and a three-run homer in the eighth inning, as the Bankers racked up 17 hits. Josh Enquist also went 3-for-6 with five RBIs, while Jacob Geppert had three RBIs. Cole Knippling went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Alex Loes went 2-for-3.

Enquist and Loes combined to allow five earned runs on six hits and five walks, while striking out 13 batters for Plankinton (1-1) on the mound.

Jayde VanDerWerff drove in two runs for the Storm, while Christian Schweigert and Tommy Determan drove in a run apiece. Four South Central (0-3) pitchers allowed 16 earned runs on 17 hits and nine walks, while striking out nine. Blake Boes struck out seven in four frames.

The Bankers host Wessington Springs at 8 p.m. Thursday.
