Chris Hemsworth's wife Elsa Pataky shades Miley Cyrus in aftermath of split from Liam Hemsworth

Elsa Pataky gave an update on how Liam Hemsworth is handling his divorce from Miley Cyrus, and she shaded her former sister-in-law in the process.

The 43-year-old model, who is married to Liam's older brother, Chris Hemsworth, told Hola! this week that she thinks that Liam "deserves much better" than Miley.

"After a relationship that you’ve dedicated 10 years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well," she told the outlet. "He’s a strong boy and he deserves the best. I think he deserves much better."

Pataky went on to say that Liam has found comfort and support in his tight-knit family, which includes "Thor" actor Chris, 36, and "Westworld" actor Luke, 38.

"You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with his brother, who has been there to give all the strength he needed," she said, before adding that the entire family is planning to "spend the Christmas holidays in Australia," where the Hemsworths grew up.

Liam has also been spending a lot of time with family this fall since news broke in August that he and Miley were calling it quits on their marriage after less than a year (they dated on and off for a decade, though). 11 days after Miley announced their split through her publicist, Hemsworth filed for divorce as his estranged wife flaunted her whirlwind romance with Kaitlynn Carter.

Since Miley's split from Carter, she has been dating Australian singer Cody Simpson. The couple hasn't been shy about showing off their romance on social media, frequently making out and declaring their love for one another on each other's Instagram accounts. In recent weeks, however, their social media activity has cooled down.

Meanwhile, Liam was linked to young Australian actress Maddison Brown, who he was spotted on a date with in New York City last month.

Elsa Pataky, who is from Spain, has been married to Chris Hemsworth since Christmas 2010. They share daughter, India Rose, 7, and twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, 5.
