Chocolate Dunkaroos Are Officially Back So Everybody Remain Calm
Update, July 26, 2021: Time really does fly during the summertime and between all of your pool days and camping trips you may have forgotten about the huge Dunkaroos news that was announced back in April. For those who don't remember: Chocolate Dunkaroos are coming back. Better yet, they're officially back RIGHT NOW.
The cookie and frosting snack duo returned to grocery aisles in 2020 in their most classic flavor (vanilla cookies with vanilla and sprinkles frosting) much to the surprise of kids and nostalgic adults alike. Now, over a year after their initial relaunch, the sweet snack is back in another returning flavor. Chocolate Dunkaroos come with vanilla cookies and rich chocolate frosting for dipping so you can mix and match your own ratio.
Packs of the treat are available in grocery stores right now at about $1.79. So for less than $2, all of your dreamy childhood memories can come flooding back to you. Sounds like a steal to me.
Original Post, April 26, 2021: Long gone are the days of bartering for an extra special treat in the school cafeteria but dang, those really were the good ol' days! Items like cosmic brownies and Dunkaroos were like edible gold back then and the recent return of Dunkaroos has made that make so much sense. They're still delicious, and they're still something I'd trade for if given the chance and now...the chocolate flavor is officially back.
Not to be dramatic, but the return of Dunkaroos was truly some of the only good news to come out of 2020. Last May, Dunkaroos packs started popping up in grocery aisles and convenience stores across the nation, but the release only included the most classic Dunkaroos flavor. The Dunkaroos available up until this point have featured vanilla cookies and vanilla frosting with sprinkles but now the chocolate version is coming back too. All '90s kids: Please do your best to remain calm.
Now, you'll be able to get packs that include vanilla cookies and chocolate frosting at grocery stores and select convenience stores nationwide. You will have to be a tad bit more patient though because the chocolate Dunkaroos are officially rolling out in July. Just another reason to get excited about the summertime!
While you wait you can still enjoy Dunkaroos in the vanilla frosting version or in the many edible iterations available. Think Dunkaroos cookie dough, icing, and even Dunkaroos with yogurt. The options are endless and the snack is timeless. Nostalgia awaits you!
