Chipotle is testing smoked brisket as its new protein option at 64 restaurants throughout Cincinnati, Ohio, and part of Sacramento, California.

The new protein option is available for in-restaurant, online, mobile, and contactless delivery orders for a limited time.

“We’re thrilled to offer a new, responsibly-sourced brisket that tastes terrific and meets our industry leading Food with Integrity standards,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle, in a statement.

The meat is grilled and topped with a sauce made with Mexican peppers.

Chipotle will leverage customer feedback before deciding on a national launch strategy.

Previously tested menu items at Chipotle include Carne Asada, Supergreens Salad Mix and Queso Blanco. These items are now officially included in the menu.

Earlier this year, Chipotle announced it was testing Cilantro-Lime Cauliflower Rice in Denver and Wisconsin, as well as a digital-only quesadilla in Cleveland and Indianapolis.
