Chipotle will now pay for employees' tuitions upfront

Perks for Chipotle employees are about to get much more spicier than sneaking free guac when they're in need.

The company announced that starting November 15, it will cover tuition costs for 75 different business and technology degrees for eligible employees -- including in-store crew members.

In order to meet requirements, employees must work a minimum of 15 hours per week, have been employed by Chipotle for at least 120 days and must stay at Chipotle for at lest six months after they have earned their degree.

The five accredited universities which employees can earn their degrees at through the program are the University of Arizona, Bellevue University, Brandman University, Wilmington University and Southern New Hampshire University.

Marissa Andrada, Chief People Officer at Chipotle, said in a statement:

"We are proud to launch this opportunity for debt-free degrees by providing free tuition to help our employees excel in all areas in their lives, both in and out of Chipotle."

The new initiative is run in partnership with education benefit organization Guild Education and serves as an expansion of the already fruitful Chipotle Cultivate Education benefits program offered to employees, which offers $5,250 in tuition reimbursement per year at their school of choice.

Rachel Carlson, Guild Education CEO & Co-Founder, expanded:

"This expansion of Chipotle's Cultivate Education benefits program to cover 100% tuition costs upfront for degrees in business and technology represents the company's commitment to upskilling its workforce and helping employees achieve their professional goals. We are thrilled to partner with Chipotle as they continue to lead the way in the fast-casual industry for enhancing the employee experience with best-in-class benefits."
