Chilean Police Warn Residents Along Pacific Coast After Tsunami Alert

Chilean police patrolled along the waterfront in Puerto Saavedra on March 4, after an 8.1-magnitude earthquake on the other side of the Pacific Ocean led to tsunami warnings in South America.

Chilean officials issued a “yellow alert” for coastal communities and published a schedule for areas facing possible tsunami threat, starting with Easter Island overnight.
