Child fatally shot in Highview neighborhood is identified
A young boy was shot to death Thursday night in Louisville's Highview neighborhood, according to police.
Louisville Metro Police responded to the 8200 block of Sandidge Drive shortly before 10 p.m., where they found Brandon Malone Jr., 6, who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
LMPD initially classified the death as a homicide but has since labeled it a death investigation until the circumstances leading up to the shooting are determined, police said.
