With gas prices soaring, Minnesota motorists are searching for the cheapest fuel.
According to GasBuddy.com, a website that provides gas prices through user-submitted data, as of June 30, the nation's average gas price for unleaded is $4.85. The price has risen nearly 24 cents in the last month. Within the last year, fuel price averages have increased by $1.72.
How do gas prices in Minnesota compare to the national average?
Even though gas prices are continuing to climb, Minnesota remains one of the states where the average cost of fuel is below the national average.
As of June 30, Minnesota's average gas price sits at $4.69 per gallon, about 19 cents cheaper than the rest of the country. Compared to last month, the price of gas is 45 cents higher. Just a year ago, gas prices in Minnesota were $1.71 cheaper.
When compared to other states, Minnesota's average is the 21st least expensive in terms of gas price average.
