Chattahoochee Tech In-Service Day keynote speaker highlights diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging

Oct. 21—The Chattahoochee Technical College 2021 in-service training day on Oct. 19 for all faculty and staff featured keynote speaker Rosetta Clay, who is an expert in the vital work of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, Clay's presentation included information about the theory of belonging and the process of becoming diverse by design, along with examples and practical steps for purposeful inclusion.

She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Diversity & Equity in Education with an emphasis in Human Resource Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The Chattahoochee Tech in-service day is held annually to share educational opportunities and training for all faculty and staff while cultivating a stronger sense of community. This year's in-service day was held virtually, and included interactive sessions with topics that ranged from improving technological and communication skills to developing cultural competence in the workplace.

The event also showcased an online photo gallery of Chattahoochee Tech faculty and staff participating in various community service projects.
