Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library celebrates one year anniversary of mobile library

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its mobile library known as MoLi (pronounced “Molly”).

MoLi was introduced to connect all different ages within the community and increase access to library resources. The mobile library uses a system of rotating service routes to reach customers across Mecklenburg County.

The rotating service routes allow the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library to continue its effort to close the divide between people who have digital access and those who don’t.

MoLi offers more than just reading materials to Mecklenburg residents; wifi enhancements allow patrons to use free internet as long as they’re within a 50-foot radius of the vehicle.

Additional services provided by the mobile library:

  • Access to adult, children’s, and teen books, movies, and audiobooks

  • Convenient ways to borrow and return borrowed library items

  • Chromebooks to use while the Mobile Library is in the area

  • Services to register, renew, or update a library card

  • Assistance with online databases and resources
