Central Ohio High School Sports Awards: ThisWeek reveals Super 12 boys cross country team

A state champion highlights the ThisWeek Super 12 boys cross country team.

The Athlete of the Year in each sport will be announced at the Central Ohio High School Sports Awards, presented by Encova Insurance. The winners will be announced during the live show on June 15 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The show is produced with the support of Raising Canes and Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Nominated athletes will receive a free ticket to the event thanks to sponsors when they RSVP here. Additional tickets may be purchased on the show’s website.

School: Hilliard Davidson

Year: Senior

Ackley earned his first state title, finishing in 15 minutes, 10.1 seconds to help Davidson place fifth (197) in Division I behind champion Mason (128). He also won regional (14:58.02), district (15:04.3) and OCC-Central Division (14:56.9) titles.

Ackley is a three-time ThisWeek Athlete of the Year in the sport and now a four-time Super 12 honoree. He also is a two-time Super 12 honoree in track and field.

Andrew Bracken

School: Westerville North

Year: Senior

Bracken achieved a personal goal with an all-Ohio performance, finishing 24th (16:00.6) in the Division I state meet. He was 13th (15:55.52) at regional and seventh (16:04.46) at district.

Bracken placed fourth (15:44.7) at the OCC-Capital meet to help the Warriors finish second (59) behind Worthington Kilbourne (58).

School: Dublin Scioto

Year: Junior

Competing in his second state meet, Day came in 17th (15:53.2) after finishing 119th (16:51.2) in 2021. He finished ninth (15:38.52) at regional, third (15:33.26) at district and fifth (15:48.7) in the OCC-Capital.

Scioto finished eighth (170) at regional, third (65) at district and third (66) in the OCC-Capital.

Ben Gabelman

Ben Gabelman

School: Westerville North

Year: Junior

Gabelman, a Super 12 honoree in both cross country and track last school year, finished fourth at the Division I state meet in 15:31.4, besting his 2021 performance (26th, 15:51.3).

He won the OCC-Capital title (15:29.3), finished second at district (15:14.96) and placed fourth at regional (15:22.51).

School: Lancaster

Year: Senior

The Lanoy triplets of Isaiah, Kaiden and Trevor led Lancaster to a third-place state finish (155). Isaiah finished 22nd (15:56.6), earning all-Ohio honors.

He also turned in a third-place finish (16:16.7) at the OCC-Buckeye meet, was 38th (17:51.95) at district and placed 10th (15:46.03) at regional.

School: Lancaster

Year: Senior

Lanoy set himself up for a strong postseason by earning a runner-up finish (15:58.4) at the OCC-Buckeye meet.

He finished fourth (15:52.41) in the district 1 meet as Lancaster (60) won the title and was eighth (15:31.5) at regional as the Golden Gales (68) captured another championship. He then was 16th (15:53.1) at state.

School: Lancaster

Year: Senior

Lanoy won the OCC-Buckeye meet in 15:51.0 as the Gales scored 15 points to win the title, taking the top five spots in the race.

He followed with a fifth-place finish (15:58.2) at district and was seventh (15:26.02) at regional before finishing sixth (15:36.0) at state to lead his team.

School: Worthington Kilbourne

Year: Junior

A Super 12 honoree in 2021, Miller made his second appearance at state and was 34th (16:15.4) after finishing 29th (15:52.3) the year before. He finished fifth at district (16:02.7) and 11th at regional (15:52.51).

Miller also finished third (15:41.5) in the OCC-Capital meet, helping the Wolves win the league championship.

School: Dublin Jerome

Year: Senior

Razor rallied in the final mile to finish 19th (15:54.7) in the Division I state meet and earn all-state honors. He finished 12th (15:54.78) at regional, sixth (16:01.44) at district and second (15:51.6) in the OCC-Cardinal.

Razor helped the Celtics finish first (39) in the OCC-Cardinal, second (62) at district and sixth (164) at regional.

School: Dublin Jerome

Year: Junior

Ricchiuti capped a strong season by finishing second (15:25.6) at state behind Ackley. He won OCC-Cardinal (15:49.6) and district (15:09.99) titles and finished second (15:08.28) to Ackley at regional.

Ricchiuti also was a Super 12 honoree in 2021, when he finished 45th (16:01.8) at state.

Saketh Rudraraju

School: Olentangy Orange

Year: Junior

Rudraraju earned his second Super 12 honor, finishing 44th (16:27.0) at the Division I state meet as Orange was 17th (331) in its first appearance as a team since 2019.

Rudraraju was fifth at regional in a personal-best 15:24.41 and third in the OCC-Central meet in 15:51.8. In 2021, he was 16th at state in 15:39.2.

School: Dublin Coffman

Year: Senior

Shaughnessy, who also made the Super 12 last season, earned a runner-up finish (15:32.6) in the OCC-Central meet to set up another strong postseason.

He won the Division I, district 3 race (15:33.66) while helping the Shamrocks (52) win the title and was sixth (15:24.52) at regional as Coffman placed third (112). At state, he finished 10th (15:45.2) to help the Shamrocks place fourth (177).
