The members of the ThisWeek Super 12 girls golf team didn't just stand out in central Ohio. They also shined on the state tournament stage.

The Athlete of the Year in each sport will be announced at the Central Ohio High School Sports Awards, presented by Encova Insurance. The winners will be announced during the live show on June 15 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The show is produced with the support of Raising Canes and Nationwide Children's Hospital.

School: Worthington Kilbourne

Year: Freshman

Anderson made a big impact after joining the Wolves for the final month of the season. After previously playing in junior events, she carded a 63 in her first 18-hole round, earning medalist honors in a Division I sectional at Oakhaven.

She followed with a second-place finish at district, shooting a 69 at the Links at Echo Springs. She then carded a two-day 154 to tie for 15th of 72 golfers at state.

Skylar Dean

School: Olentangy Orange

Year: Sophomore

Dean repeats as a Super 12 honoree after being the first Orange player to qualify for the Division I state tournament since 2018 when the team was runner-up. She tied for 15th with a 154.

Dean shot a 74 at district to tie for fourth. She averaged 69.67 in OCC-Buckeye Division play to earn first-team all-league honors.

Olivia Drankwalter

School: Olentangy

Year: Senior

Drankwalter was a steady veteran all season for the Braves, helping them reach state as a team for the first time. She shot a 145 to finish third in Division I.

Drankwalter shot a 78 at district to tie for 12th and was first-team all-OCC-Buckeye with a 75.67 average as Olentangy won the league at 20-0.

Mia Hammond

School: New Albany

Year: Freshman

A veteran of regional and national tournaments, Hammond made an immediate impact with the Eagles. She averaged 69.3, shot a 67 to win the Division I district tournament and carded a 146 at state to tie for fourth place.

New Albany won the OCC-Central and district championships for the fifth consecutive season, but its streak of state titles was snapped at four with a third-place finish.

School: Columbus Academy

Year: Junior

Hu helped lead the Vikings to their first Division II state title, tying for sixth (157) of 71 competitors as Academy (647) outdistanced runner-up Sugarcreek Garaway (670).

Hu tied for fifth (80) at district, finished first (76) at sectional and earned first-team all-MSL-Ohio honors as Academy won all three titles.

School: Columbus School for Girls

Year: Senior

Kim competed in the Division II state tournament for the third time but qualified for the first time as an individual, tying for sixth with a 157.

She was district medalist at Darby Creek with a 75 as CSG finished second and earned first-team all-MSL-Ohio honors. In her freshman and sophomore seasons, CSG reached state as a team.

School: Dublin Coffman

Year: Senior

Also a Super 12 honoree a year ago, Lim picked up where she left off in 2021, averaging 73 in OCC-Central play to earn co-medalist honors.

Lim opened the postseason with a third-place finish (74) at the Blacklick Woods sectional as Coffman was runner-up and then shot 74 at district to tie for fourth. She tied for 41st (165) in her third appearance at state.

School: Dublin Jerome

Year: Sophomore

Competing in her second Division I state tournament, Prettyman tied for 47th (168). She tied for 12th (78) at district and finished fifth (78) at sectional as the Celtics won both tournaments.

Prettyman had a 75 average in OCC-Cardinal play to earn first-team all-league honors and help Jerome win the league at 24-0.

School: New Albany

Year: Junior

A Super 12 selection for the second consecutive season, Purcell averaged 74.4 and was a mainstay in the Eagles’ top five for the third year in a row.

Purcell tied for eighth at state with a 151 as New Albany won league, sectional and district titles but finished third (621) at state behind Centerville (613) and Jerome (614). She tied Lim for OCC-Central Player of the Year.

School: Dublin Jerome

Year: Senior

Ryu closed her prep career by finishing second (143) in the Division I state tournament behind Cincinnati Mercy McAuley’s Kylie Heidemann (141), just missing out on a second consecutive individual title.

She earned her third OCC-Cardinal Player of the Year honor and was a four-time first-team all-league honoree. Ryu was ThisWeek’s girls golf Athlete of the Year as a junior and a Super 12 honoree as a sophomore.

School: Dublin Jerome

Year: Sophomore

The sister of Audrey Ryu and a repeat Super 12 honoree, Ellie tied for eighth (151) at state as Jerome finished second (614) behind Centerville (613).

She tied for 18th (79) at district, finished fourth (77) at sectional and helped the Celtics win their 18th league title in 19 seasons with a 74 average to earn first-team all-league honors.

Meadow Tian

Meadow Tian

School: Olentangy

Year: Freshman

Tian rose to the occasion multiple times, most notably in the Division I state tournament, where she fired a 4-under par 66 on the second day to set an Ohio State Gray Course record and finish seventh overall (147).

That round tied her own program record, which she set in the second round of OCC-Buckeye play. Tian won three league rounds and earned league Player of the Year honors with a 67.67 average.
