CARLETON – The Carleton Rotary Club will welcome Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus to town with a celebration Saturday at Ash-Carleton Park.

The festivities will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at the park located at 12899 Horan St. just north of Ash St.

There will be free photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a Meet and Greet with Elsa and Anna sponsored by Lake Insurance Agency. There will also be cookie decorating offered by the Carleton Historical Society, a gift basket raffle sponsored by several local businesses and music and entertainment provided by the Airport High School Marching Band and Choir and Sherry’s Academy of Dance. Vendors will sell food and refreshments from their trailers. Children can drop off letters for Santa in a mailbox to send to the North Pole. The letters should include a return address.

Visitors are asked to dress appropriately as all activities will be outdoors, said Darlene Fante, a member of the club. Participants also can bring non-perishable food items to be distributed to local families in need, she said.

Funds raised from the celebration will be used to buy new holiday lights for the Village of Carleton. Other businesses contributing to the celebration include the Carleton Branch Library, Airport Community Schools, Durocher’s TV and Appliances, Fun Food Express, Fast Signs, Lisa MacZink Photography, La Taco Reina, Smiles for Miles, Addie’s Closet and DTE Energy.
