CCFCU professionals taught Midland students financial capabilities

Jan. 27—Local students at one Midland school received financial tips and lessons from Complex Community Federal Credit Union, a press release detailed. CCFCU hosted a CU 4 Reality Fair at the Young Women's Leadership Academy.

As part of the company's visit to the school, students created a spending plan based on a career and salary, then identify needs versus wants to make sure they are living within their means. CCFCU professionals were stationed at tables for the students to visit to discuss auto sales, utilities, housing, insurance, retailers, and other financial-related topics. The goal was for students to understand the real expenses that they will face in adulthood and the choices they need to make ends meet and avoid falling into debt.

The event started Thursday at the Young Women's Leadership Academy, located at 1800 E Wall Street in Midland, and it concluded with a dinner provided by CCFCU at 7 p.m. at the same location.

CCFCU is proud to promote financial capabilities in the community to equip individuals for opportunities in life. CCFCU has been active in the local school districts teaching financial capabilities to students and regularly hosts reality fairs to stimulate real-life situations that can happen based on everyday choices.
