Recently, Angela Eaton was fostering four kittens who needed to be bottle fed. As they got older, they got more playful. They figured out how to climb her desk chair, and she had to figure out how to distract them from jumping on her keyboard.
On one of her video screens, Eaton put videos interesting to cats, like recordings of aquariums. The kittens, fascinated by the moving images, started trying to catch them. Watching these behaviors, Eaton was inspired to create a videogame that would keep score and entertain kittens and cats alike.

Eaton's video game that uses visual stimulation to engage the playful participation of cats and kittens have been branded Cattywhompus. The application is a multi-level game that displays moving targets-frogs, flying saucers, fish-that cats "catch" with a touch. This interactive game keeps score for your feline players, and you can share your cat's score on social media. You can also upload your cat's score to the Global Scoreboard to compare your cat's points to cats around the world; you can share your cat's scoreboard, too.

The unique video game has 15 scenes and three levels of difficulty. The application is available for $2.99 USD and is available for iOS and Android. There are no in-app purchases or ads: pay once, play forever. Also, 10% of all profits from the video game will go to cat rescues throughout the country.

Cattywhompus is the brainchild of Angela Eaton, a former college professor. She currently runs a consulting firm that provides grant writing and technical editing services, Angela Eaton & Associates, LLC.
