Cattle Ranch Damaged as California's Dixie Fire Grows to Over 865,000 Acres

California’s Dixie Fire had grown to 865,703 acres as of September 2, as the perimeter containment reached 55 percent.

Although containment has increased, the Dixie Fire continued to see “explosive growth”, according to local reports.

Video filmed on September 1 by Five Dot Ranch shows the damage caused by the Dixie Fire to the land on which they graze cattle.

“Unfortunately, this area burned far worse than the allotments we checked last week, and we are saddened to see most of our remaining feed and fence lines turned to ash,” the ranch wrote on Instagram. “Already, we have been faced with drastic feed shortages due to the drought, so the loss of this additional feed is utterly heartbreaking.” Credit: Five Dot Ranch via Storyful
