Catherine Tyldesley admitted she was almost sick on her professional partner as she struggled with rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing.

The former Coronation Street actress has been paired with South African dancer Johannes Radebe, 32, who joined the BBC show last year and is putting Tyldesley through her paces as his first celebrity partner.

Tyldesley, 35, posted a clip of the pair on Instagram in the dance studio on the second day of their rehearsals.

Tyldesley said: "Do we really want to talk about what happened?

"It's all going to be okay... I wasn't sick. I didn't vomit on you yet... I retched."

Radebe replied: "She did... it's fine, it's okay."

Tyldesley added: "It's day two, nobody panic. I am going to have more coffee. Tomorrow is a better day."

She captioned the clip: “Day 2... I love this patient man @johannesradebe - bless you for putting up with my heaving and SHOCKING memory.”

The actress – who is mum to four-year-old son Alfie – has revealed she had previously been in touch with Strictly producers but was not allowed to compete in the BBC series while she was still playing Eva Price in the ITV soap.

"I have spoken to (the show's producers) before but it felt like this was the right time,” she said.

“It had to work for us as a family, and this is the right time.

"When you're in Corrie they're not going to let you, they won't let you do it. They'll only let you do ITV things like Dancing on Ice."

Tyldesley previously admitted she quit Corrie and its gruelling 12-hour filming schedules to spend more time with her son.

She said: ““It was 7am to 7pm every day. Those are moments in your life you never get back. I love spending more time with my little boy now."

The Strictly live shows begin on BBC One on Saturday, September 21.
