Carter named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week

Oct. 27—Kansas State volleyball sophomore outside hitter Aliyah Carter was named the Big 12's Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after a stellar performance in the Wildcats' four-set win at TCU last week.

Carter turned in a season-high 23 kills and three aces in the victory. The match marked her fourth 20-kill performance of the season.

The sophomore now has earned seven weekly conference awards, including five Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors and two awards for Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.

The latest award is the second of the season.

Carter added her 10th double-double of the 2021 campaign in K-State's Thursday loss to TCU; eight of have come in her past 13 outings.

She averages 4.19 kills per set, which is the second-best mark in the Big 12 and ranks 29th in the country.

The Wildcats (12-7, 3-5) will host Texas Tech (13-8, 3-5) on Wednesday and Thursday for a two-match series. Wednesday's match will be aired nationally on ESPNU.
