Cara Delevingne is opening up about her relationship with Ashley Benson. In an interview with Marie Claire, the model and actress talks about meeting her "girlfriend" in the spring of 2018 on set of Alex Ross Perry’s Her Smell.

"We weren’t looking for it," Delevingne shares. "It was really just very authentic and natural."

Delevingne, who is starring in the upcoming Amazon series Carnival Row, tells the magazine she identifies as queer, but spent years denying her attraction to women because she "didn’t want to feel different, even though from an early age I always felt I didn’t belong." Delevingne adds that she and her family didn’t have the language to talk about any of it growing up.

In June, Delevingne and the Pretty Little Liars star made their public debut as a couple nearly one year after they began dating. Benson supported her love’s acceptance of the Hero Award at the TrevorLIVE Gala. Also in attendance, was the model's father.

"My dad’s coming," she told the magazine ahead of time, her throat apparently clotting with emotion. "This is a really big deal for me. I never thought I’d be awarded something for being part of this community."

During her acceptance speech, Delevingne gave a shoutout to her girlfriend.

"I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are," she said on stage. "[Ashley's] one of the people who help me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it. She showed me what real love is and how to accept it, which is a lot harder than I thought. I love you, Sprinkles."

The actresses are not married — yet. E! News reports the two did not wed, despite speculation, but did have a friendship ceremony. They went public on social media with their relationship in June in honor of Pride Month.
