C-M volleyball wins five-set thriller over Keota

Oct. 2—KEOTA — Colfax-Mingo's volleyball team served up 21 aces and got double-doubles from Caylee Cunningham and Trinity Smith during its five-set road win over Keota on Thursday.

The Tigerhawks went back and forth in the win column against the Eagles before coming out on top 25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-7 in the South Iowa Cedar League contest.

Cunningham finished with 19 kills, 20 digs and three aces and Smith tallied 15 kills, 19 digs and six aces.

Five players had at least three aces and six Tigerhawks put down at least two kills.

Madison Stackhouse had one of the best matches of her career, finishing with 32 assists, seven digs, four aces and two kills. Joslyn Chadwick registered 12 digs and three aces, Abi Rawlins added eight digs, three assists and four aces and Britney Keeney chipped in four kills, four digs and two blocks.

Charlotte Donahue dished out two assists, put down two kills and tallied five digs and Felicity Woods collected four kills.

The Tigerhawks were 90-of-105 in serves with Chadwick leading the way at 20-of-20.

Colfax-Mingo (7-11 overall, 2-4 in the SICL) improved to 1-1 in conference five-set matches this fall. Keota fell to 2-12 overall and 0-6 in the conference.
