C-M girls finish second at home golf tournament

May 16—COLFAX — All four scoring golfers finished in the top 10 for Colfax-Mingo's girls golf team during the Tigerhawks' home tournament at a wet Colfax Country Club on Friday.

The Tigerhawks finished second in the C-M Girls Golf Invitational, trailing Albia (247) by three strokes. The Tigerhawks shot a 250, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (256) was next and PCM (284) finished fourth in the four-team field.

The nine-hole tournament was played in a constant drizzle for most of the round.

C-M's Kira Warrick was the runner-up medalist after firing a 57. Albia's Ella Zaputil claimed medalist honors with a 55.

Carley Underwood and Brennan Rhone tied for sixth overall with 64s and Charlotte Donahue was ninth with a 65. PCM's Tori Peterson carded a 66 in 10th to lead the Mustangs.

The other three counting scores for PCM included Eleigh Davis (69), Riley Johannes (69) and Deanna McHargue (80).

C-M's fifth golfer was Holland Robinette and she turned in a non-counting 73.
