C-3PO star Anthony Daniels says the Oscars are 'snobbish' towards 'Star Wars'
Anthony Daniels has said that the Academy has a 'snobbish' attitude towards the Star Wars movies when it comes to the Oscars.
The C-3PO actor, who's played the prissy robot in the Star Wars movies since 1977, added that it 'p**ses' him off that George Lucas himself has never been properly acknowledged by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

He told The Sun: “The Academy can be very snobbish and almost obviously.
“And George is not a Hollywood person – ‘If you don’t like our gang we’re not going to have you in our gang,’ sort of thing.
“[It] Really p**ses me off that I don’t think George ever won an Oscar for himself, just departments – special effects and all that kind of thing. George deserves more than that.”
The first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, did trawl in a hefty amount of statues at the 1978 ceremony – six in all, from John Williams score to Best Visual Effects, plus a special achievement Oscar for sound designer Ben Burtt.
The Empire Strikes Back then won two, and Return of the Jedi won one.

But Lucas's prequel series, while scooping a handful of nominations, was largely snubbed, other than a handful of nominations.
Latterly, the reboot movies The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi were nominated in several categories, but failed to convert any of them.
Daniels reprises is role as C-3PO in the forthcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and publishes the memoir I Am C-3PO: The Inside Story tomorrow.
