Bulgarian president criticizes Sofia sending weapons to Ukraine

He said he was upset that he couldn’t veto the bill because it was passed by a constitutional majority.
The president noted that the package doesn’t include aircraft, air defense systems, or tanks, as this would weaken the strength of the Bulgarian armed forces.
“Unfortunately, the warmongers in parliament overwhelmingly decided on military assistance to Ukraine,” Radev said.
“Thus, they obliged the provisional government to make a deal with Ukraine regarding this assistance.”

On Dec. 16, the Bulgarian parliament approved the agreement between Bulgaria and Ukraine on supplying the latter with weapons, armored vehicles, and ammunition.
