Buffalo woman's death notice celebrates her hatred of Tom Brady
In a recent death notice in the Buffalo News, the family of the late Carole Scarsella, from the Buffalo suburb of Lackawanna, listed five things that they believed defined her life:
Reading, especially Stephen King books.
Smoking. “She smoked millions of cigarettes,” it reads.
Slot machines and Facebook games.
A love of the New York Yankees and a hatred of Tom Brady.
Involvement in her kids’ schools.
Back to No. 4 for a moment. If this isn’t the quintessential bullet point for a Buffalo-area death notice, we don’t know what is.
In fact, the family reserves the use of the all-caps function until that note, so as to set it apart. As in, “She HATED Tom Brady.” That about spells it out.
Have a read of the whole thing for yourselves:

And in case that didn’t spell it out, her relatives wanted to drive home that particular point.
This is my grandma. I miss her endlessly. But I’m glad she is remembered and the people of buffalo also share her deep rooted hatred of Tom Brady. https://t.co/MYEhkTahCl

Bills fans, you see, have not enjoyed facing Brady too often over the years. The Patriots were a stunning 32-3 against Buffalo with Brady at QB. One of those losses came in Week 17 when the Patriots sat Brady at halftime. He threw for 70 TDs (his most vs. any NFL team) in those 35 games and ran in two more for good measure.
Carole is not alone in her hatred of Brady and the Patriots.
But in death, she now apparently is enjoying a level of celebrity that she might never have received outside her family while she was alive. The posts have gone viral, and her legacy has been cemented in the hearts of long-suffering Buffalonians.
And with Brady now in Tampa Bay, and the Bills not scheduled to face the Buccaneers until 2021, we hope she can now rest in peace.
Godspeed, Carole.
