Sabres' Jack Eichel sinks Senators with 4-goal game
Running the offence through your best player is an easy strategy to combat a losing streak and the Buffalo Sabres took it to heart on Saturday.
Jack Eichel put on an absolute goal-scoring clinic against the Ottawa Senators, scoring all four of his team’s goals in a 4-2 victory — and boy, was it pretty to watch.
Eichel notched his second career hat trick in the third period, bursting out of his own end to create a 2-on-2 rush and then rifling a perfectly-placed laser past Senators goaltender Craig Anderson.

Eichel historically takes pride in tormenting the Senators and Saturday was no different.

Buffalo’s star centre added his fourth goal of the game — his 12th of the season — in an empty net to seal the victory.
Eichel ought to be considered among the NHL’s elite forwards and the Sabres know they can count on him when all else isn’t working — even if it is against the Senators once again.
