Bucs tailback Leonard Fournette named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Three days after his four-touchdown performance against the Colts, Bucs tailback Leonard Fournette has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Fournette totaled 131 yards — including 17 carries for 100 yards — in the 38-31 triumph. His four total TDs (three rushing, one receiving) were a career-high, matching the franchise’s single-game record for TDs from scrimmage (shared by Jimmie Giles and Doug Martin).

Fournette’s eight total TDs are his most in a season since his rookie year with the Jaguars in 2017. Through 11 games, he leads Tampa Bay in rushing (139 carries, 621 yards) and ranks second in receptions (51 for 354 yards).

He’s the first Buccaneers back to receive a player-of-the-week award since Bobby Rainey took the honor following a career performance (30 carries, 163 yards, three total TDs) in a 2013 victory against the Falcons.
