Bryce Dallas Howard's new documentary honors dads, John Legend drops a new album and more of this week's best in pop culture

Just in time for Father’s Day, Bryce Dallas Howard makes her directorial debut with the documentary “Dads.” The doc follows six fathers as they go through the trials and tribulations of parenting. It also includes testimonials from famous fathers like Bryce’s dad, Ron Howard. ”Dads” premieres Friday, June 19 on Apple TV+. John Legend is all about spreading love in his seventh studio album, “Bigger Love.” Legend has released a music video of the same name, that includes cameos from people spreading positive vibes amid the coronavirus pandemic. Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen and the couple’s two kids are also featured in the video. Padma Lakshmi is on a journey to redefine the idea of American food in the 10-episode series, “Taste the Nation With Padma Lakshmi.” In each episode she travels to a different part of the country to highlight a different immigrant community and celebrate their place in American culture. “Taste the Nation With Padma Lakshmi” premieres Friday, June 19 on Hulu. - The It List is Yahoo's weekly look at the best in pop culture. With the coronavirus pandemic in mind, here are our picks for the week of June 15. Just in time for Father's Day, Bryce Dallas Howard makes her directorial debut with the documentary "Dads."

The doc follows six dads as they go through the trials and tribulations of parenting. It also includes testimonials from some of Hollywood's funniest fathers, like Judd Apatow, Ken Jeong, Will Smith, and Bryce's famous dad Ron Howard. Joseph Gordon Levitt plays a pilot forced to fend off hijackers in the movie "7500."

TOBIAS ELLIS: This is Tobias Ellis, the first officer, speaking. The captain is injured, but he's OK. Several men attacked our cockpit. We stop them for now. One of them is still in the cockpit. He's unconscious. The rest are in the cabin. Status of the crew, I don't know. I just hope they're safe in the back.

- After terrorists fail to storm the cockpit, Tobias must try and keep the passengers safe while still in the air.

TOBIAS ELLIS: They have a hostage. They're going to kill him, if I don't open the door.

- Do you want other guys to die?

- 7500 is the emergency code for an airplane hijacking. Padma Lakshmi hits the road in search of some delicious cuisine and personal stories in the docu series "Taste the Nation."

PADMA LAKSHMI: This is my first rodent.

- What does it taste like to you?

PADMA LAKSHMI: It tastes like chicken.

- In each episode, she travels to a different part of the country to highlight a different immigrant community and celebrate their place in American culture.

- Everybody knows Thai food. Nobody knows about Thai people. There's the dish, and then there's the hands that prepare and serve the dish.
