Sep. 26—Myles Garrett crashed his 2021 Porsche around 3 p.m. Sept. 26 after leaving Browns practice, according to a report by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A female passenger was in the car when Garrett lost control while driving south on State Road near Wadsworth. Garrett and his passenger were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the Highway Patrol said in its report.

The car went off the right side of the road and flipped several times before coming to rest. Garrett was apparently on his way to his home in Medina when the accident occurred.

Garrett's agent released the following statement: "Myles Garrett was involved in a one-car accident this afternoon and was transported to a local hospital to be medically evaluated. While we are waiting to learn the extent of his injuries, he has been alert and responsive. The Garrett family would like to thank the medical personnel that got Myles and his passenger out of the vehicle and safely transported to the hospital."

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Garrett is expected to be discharged tonight, according to Garrett's agent.

No drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident, according to the Highway Patrol report.

"We are in the process of gathering more information," a Browns spokesman announced in a group text.

Tuesday is a normal off-day for the Browns. So they won't practice again until Sept. 28. Their next game is Oct. 2 in Atlanta.

Garrett, a 6-foot-4, 272-pound defensive end, has seven tackles and three sacks through three games this season. He has 61.5 career sacks and needs one more to break Clay Matthews' franchise record of 62 sacks.

Jadeveon Clowney, the other starting defensive end for the Browns, missed the game with the Steelers on Sept. 22 with an ankle injury. Coach Kevin Stefanski had no update on Clowney after practice Sept. 26, but he said there is a possibility Clowney could be ready to play against the Falcons. Clowney had five tackles and 1.5 sacks in the first two games.
