Brittney Griner reaction: WNBA Twitter rejoices in prisoner swap for Phoenix Mercury star
Brittney Griner is coming home and WNBA Twitter is rejoicing.
Players, coaches and others from the women's basketball community took to social media Thursday morning in the aftermath of the news that the Phoenix Mercury center had been released from a Russian penal colony and was in United States custody after a prisoner exchange.
The celebration included several tweets from the Phoenix Mercury's Brianna Turner, who has been a staunch supporter of Griner throughout the entire ordeal.
Among Turner's tweets on Thursday morning?
"Best news ever."
"What an unbelievable feelings."
"Thank you to every single person that kept Brittney Griner's name alive."
