Britney Spears celebrated her 38th birthday with boyfriend Sam Asghari this week, as she has reportedly entered a more "stable" phase of her life following a tumultuous year.

The singer took to Instagram to share a video montage of her special day, which she seemingly spent with Asghari, 25, in Miami, going ice skating and bowling at the Edition Hotel, going to the beach and eating a birthday cake adorned with old photos of Britney.

"It's my Bday B--ches," she captioned the video.

Asghari also shared an ice skating video on his account, penning a heartfelt tribute to his girlfriend of nearly three years in the caption: "We live, we laugh, we argue, and most of all we LOVE," he wrote. "There’s a reason why the world fell in love with you! You might be the princess of pop but mostly you’re my princess. Biggest Happy Birthday to you @britneyspears. My A-- still hurts from falling and breaking the ice, you get it?"

Spears and Asghari's couples' trip to Miami marks their second trip to the city in 2019, which has been a year of major ups and downs for the singer. After her sudden announcement in January that she was putting her second Las Vegas residency, Domination, on hold as her father battled serious health issues, Spears checked into a mental health facility in April, sparking fan-driven conspiracy theories that she was being held against her will.

The "Toxic" singer denied that she was being held against her will, in addition to speculation that someone else was posting on her Instagram account for her. Spears also filed for a temporary restraining order against her former manager in April, five months before her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, obtained a restraining order against her father, Jamie Spears, after an alleged altercation between Jamie and one of their two sons.

In the months since, though, things have quieted down for Britney, and a source told ET that she's in a much better place than she was earlier this year.

"Britney struggles to keep her life on track, but right now she’s been doing incredibly well. Her family is very proud of the steps she’s taken to get where she is today," the insider said. "Britney’s been following her doctor's orders and is in a very stable place at the moment."

"She is trying to keep life simple and spend time with Sam and her kids," the source went on. "She wants to just have a nice time with family."

Another source told Us Weekly that the singer has a newfound "positive headspace" and "spent the last year prioritizing herself and her well-being, something she did not have a chance to do as much during her Las Vegas residency."

Spears' second Vegas residency came on the heels of her record-breaking four-year Piece of Me residency, which saw her performing multiple shows a week for months at a time. Without the commitment, she's been able to spend more time with family.

"She has had less time with her sons but got really close with her mom, Lynne, and sister, Jamie Lynn, again recently," the Us Weekly source said. "Britney spends most of her time at home with her boyfriend, Sam [Asghari], or alone. Her relationship with Sam is rock-solid. He brings her so much joy and is a source of stability in her often chaotic life."

Back in September, Spears and Federline's custody agreement was amended, giving Federline 70 percent of the time with their sons Preston, 14, and Jayden, 13.
