Tributes were paid on January 21 after the January 20 death of singer and actor Meat Loaf was announced. He was 74.

The performer, born Marvin Lee Aday, died “surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends,” according to a post on his Facebook page.

News of his death prompted fans to post footage showing lively performances of some of Meat Loaf’s hits, which are perennial karaoke favorites.

Footage shows Ben Clayton performing part of Meat Loaf’s Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Clayton said the footage was recorded in a pub in Scotland in June, 2018. The video was accompanied by the words: “Rest in peace mr meatloaf. Here’s my tribute to your greatness.” Credit: Ben Clayton via Storyful
