British executives confronted with the country’s upcoming general election are torn over which outcome they dread more, Brexit or socialism. Victory for Boris Johnson’s Conservatives -- historically the party of enterprise -- would see the U.K. leave the European Union, a split most companies want to avoid. It could also mean that Britain ends up in an economically damaging relationship with the EU after an initial transition period, if talks between Johnson and the bloc to secure a free trade deal fail.
