State Rep. Richardson announces Marion Technical College funding

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) announced the release of more than $41,000 for renovations to Bryson Hall at Marion Technical College.

“While I am very cautious about spending hard earned tax dollars, I am glad to announce that dollars already appropriated for Higher Education in Ohio will be coming right here to Marion instead of somewhere else in Ohio,” said Richardson. “Bryson Hall has been an ongoing project at MTC and it is great to see the final touches of this project that will provide more access for students and improved services.”

Bryson Hall is a 44-year-old, single-story academic building located on the college’s Marion campus, which it shares with The Ohio State University of Marion. The building is used by the college for administrative and faculty offices, student lounge, classrooms and laboratories.

The funds, which stem from a capital improvement appropriation out of the Higher Education Improvement Fund, will be used to purchase additional furniture after recent renovations to the structure.

The funds for the project are capital appropriation through the Higher Education Improvement Fund of the 133rd General Assembly and were allocated through the Ohio Controlling Board on Monday.
