BRIEF: Big Diamond unveils 2023 schedule

FORESTVILLE — Big Diamond Speedway will begin its 2023 season with the 2nd annual Dirt Track Racing Festival and Parade of Power on Saturday, April 1, track promoters Jake and Jasmine Smulley announced Monday.

An open practice will be held the following day, Sunday, April 2, with the Forestville dirt track's 51st season of racing to get under way Friday, April 7, with the Thaw Brawl season opener paying extra cash to all division.

The Quandel Concrete 358 modifieds, the U.S.S. Achey Crate 602 sportsman and the Red White and Blue Autos roadrunners will be the track's regular divisions throughout the year. The 2023 season is slated to conclude Sunday, Sept. 3, with the annual running of the Jack Rich Inc. Coalcracker 72.

Special races scheduled for the 2023 season include the Money in the Mountains for modifieds on Friday, April 14; the Mid-Atlantic Modifieds' Modified Madness Night on Friday, May 5; the ULMS Late Model Series on Friday, June 2; the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars' Eastern Storm on Thursday, June 15; and the SUPER DIRTcar Series Anthracite Assault on Tuesday, July 11.

Other divisions to make appearances include the URC sprint cars, the winged 410 sprints, the Xcel 600 modifieds, the Central PA Legends, the PASS sprint cars and the winged super sportsmen.
