Sleepy Hollow Bookshop, Sleepy Hollow

Where: 95 Beekman Ave.

When: Tentatively opening fall 2022

What's it about?: Still in the early stages of renovation, Leah Bloom is hoping to open the Sleepy Hollow Bookshop this coming fall. Once open, the shop will feature books for kids of all ages, including young adults. The bookshop will also have a coffee shop, with offerings for adults along with kid focused snacks and drinks.

"Sleepy Hollow is a very booky town," Bloom said. "People do really seem to read and support the arts. People have stopped me on the street; it's been amazing and the support is unbelievable. I didn't know there was quite this much excitement."

Sleepy Hollow is Bloom's community — she and her family have been living in the village for 15 years — and she knows the area has been looking for a bookshop, as well as a place parents and children can gather. Bloom is planning to host author talks, "storytimes," and more events.

"I always thought Beekman Avenue would be a good spot," Bloom said." I want to make it uniquely Sleepy Hollow. It's an interesting place! I'm going to do different areas of books chosen by local kids, they're favorites, a Spanish language section. I definitely want to tie it to the area."

While the shop isn't open just yet, customers can log on to and purchase books before the store even opens. To stay up to date on the store's happenings, check out
