May 18—Conrad Weiser lost to Juniata 3-2 Tuesday in the first round of the PIAA Class 3A team tennis tournament at Altoona's Mansion Park.

The District 3 runner-up Scouts (15-5) won both doubles matches in winds that coach Ryan Knarr said were gusting up to 40 mph.

"Kudo to Juniata," Knarr said, "but when the wind reaches 40 miles per hour, it doesn't become tennis anymore."
