Major League Baseball's 2021 World Series begins Tuesday with Game 1 between the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves at Minute Maid Park.

The Astros won the AL pennant for the third time in five years and are back in the World Series after winning in 2017 and losing in 2019. For the Braves, it's the club's first NL championship and World Series appearance since 1999.

Houston defeated the Boston Red Sox in six games in the ALCS, while Atlanta knocked off the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in six games in the NLCS.

The first two games of the best-of-seven series are in Houston, moving to Atlanta for Games 3-5 and back to Houston for Games 6 and 7 – if it gets that far.

Astros: LHP Framber Valdez (11-6, 3.14 ERA) – Valdez pitched a gem – one run in eight innings – in a pivotal Game 5 in the ALCS against Boston. "It's a privilege to be the starter," Valdez said of his series-opening start.
