NEW YORK — Brandon Lowe will be back in the lineup for the Rays tonight after sitting out the past two games due to a sore right shoulder.

Lowe will be the designated hitter against the Yankees, meaning he will not have played second base since Wednesday in Milwaukee. He also served as the DH Friday against the Orioles. He has one hit in his last five games, going 1-for-20.

Left-hander Jalen Beeks will be the opener for the Rays, with lefty Ryan Yarbrough expected to work the bulk of the innings.

Ace right-hander Gerrit Cole will be on the mound for the Yankees, who have lost nine of their last 11. They again will be without infielder DJ LeMahieu, who has a right foot issue.
