Boys Basketball: Waverly-South Shore halts seven-game losing skid with 64-60 victory over Britton-Hecla

WAVERLY — Four players scored in double figures to help Waverly-South Shore halt a seven-game losing skid with a 64-60 non-conference boys basketball win over Britton-Hecla on Thursday night.

Carter Comes led the quartet with 16 points. Troy Kneeland followed with 15, Dan Dalton 14 and Cooper Schmit 12 for the Coyotes (2-8).

Aiden Fredrickson poured in 25 points and BoDell Davidson 17 for Britton-Hecla (3-7).

Tiospa Zina 79, Tiospaye Topa 30 — Eleven players scored to lead the Wambdi (6-3) to victory in the 33rd Boys Dakota Oyate Challenge at Huron.

Devin Long Crow, Jasiah Red Bear and Juron Adams tallied 13 points apiece for Tiospa Zina.

Manuel Swan III produced 13 points and AJ Begay 10 for Tiospaye Topa (1-7).

Clark-Willow Lake 63, Deuel 58 — Five players combined for 61 to lead Clark-Willow Lake in the game, which counted in both the Northeast and Lake Central Conferences.

Tyler O’Neill garnered 14 points, Noah Boykin 13, Kaplan Felberg 12 and Trey Huber and Brady Jordan each 11 for the Cyclones (5-4 overall, 1-1 in the NEC and 2-2 in the LCC). Boykin also had eight rebounds and Jordan four. Felberg made four steals.

Braydon Simon’s 16 points paced Deuel (8-5, 6-1 and 0-4). Trey Maaland added 13 points and five rebounds and Cooper Schiernbeck 11 points.

Hamlin 73, Webster Area 44 — The Chargers (6-3, 3-1) also had four double-figures scorers in the Northeast Conference win.

Tyson Stevenson tallied 17 points, Brennan Keszler 13, Easton Neuendorf 12 and Dawson Noem 11 for Hamlin. Evan Stormo chipped in with eight and Rylon Bawdon seven.

Jaydon Keller scored a game-high 18 points and also hauled in nine rebounds for the Bearcats (3-8, 2-4). Jacob Pereboom added 10 and Jaiden McCreary six.

Estelline-Hendricks 61, Arlington 48 — Braxton Saathoff erupted for 28 points to lead the Redhawks (8-5, 4-4) to the Dakota Valley Conference win.

Mattix Hausman and Dawson Bury each contributed 11 points and Joe McAninch seven for EH.

Ryker Erstad had 23 points and Britt Carlson 15 for Arlington (5-6, 3-4).

Castlewood 78, Lake Preston 36 — The Warriors improved to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the Dakota Valley Conference with 18 points from Tristan Nielsen.

Lane Tvedt added 12, Jackson Schofield 11, Bryon Laue 10 and Quincy Thu eight.

Josh McMasters notched 11 points, Riley Casper 10 and Jake Larsen nine for the Divers (1-12, 0-7). Casper also had six rebounds and Larsen five.

Redfield 52, Milbank 49 — Redfield won the Northeast Conference game by getting 15 points from Peyton Osborn, 14 from Mitchell Mack and 12 from Nolan Gall. Justin Ratigan snared eight rebounds for the Pheasants (5-7, 2-4).

Milbank (4-6, 3-3) received 12 points from Justus Osborn, 11 from Garrett Mertens and 10 from Bennett Schwenn. Wylie Mursu collected eight rebounds.

Aberdeen Roncalli 49, Sisseton 35 — The Cavaliers upped their record to 4-8 overall and 1-5 in the Northeast Conference win the win. The Redmen slipped to 4-6 and 1-3.

Richland, N.D. 69, Tri-State 35 — Tri-State fell to 1-8 with the loss. No other details were reported.
